As a freelance photographer, I can only mash them up together for now. Maybe someday I'll create a more specific photography categorization for it... Maybe not ;)

Newborn Babies Portraits & Photography

Photographing newborn babies & toddlers is magical in itself to me. This moment of a child whizz by so quickly you'll have a hard time remembering them at this age. They don't do much at this age but having the opportunity to immortalize their expressions & innocence into photos at this precious moment alone gives me a completely different sense of satisfaction in photography.

I think many would agree with me that children, kids or babies are among the favored subjects in photography or photos in general. The main reason is that they display the most natural & innocent form of human. Also, the fact that they are just adorable makes children photos so much more interesting.
Children, kids & babies photos are precious as they grow out of their innocence very quickly and anyone who has tried taking some children photos would know that they can at the same time be a very easy & a very difficult subject to photograph. Easy because they are natural and carefree in the presence of a camera, something that even a professional model has to work on to emulate. Difficult because they are unpredictable, non-stationary (especially for kids) and most likely not cooperate to be in the frame of your camera.
All these are what I feel made children an interesting photography subject & why I still enjoy photographing them.

School, Nursery & Kindergarten Events

 This is another one of my favorite shooting ground, the schools. Kindergartens, nurseries or even specialty learning centers such as music classes usually would conduct events such as concerts, graduations or sports day. And these are a great opportunity for an event photographer to capture some nice pictures. I know some parents out there may be thinking "I have a bunch of the portrait photos with the kids in costumes or in their graduation gown. There's nothing special there." Well, I'm not that type of photographer. Being an event photographer I usually take photos from an event point of view. To put it simply my school event photography focuses more on the relationship of the subject to the story instead of the subject and their attire & make-up.

The results would be a totally different kind of photograph even when the children would be in the same attire as the studio style photograph.
